MLK Jr. day in Palestine

I don't recall any experiences in recent years that has been as powerful as one had today.  We travelled down Herodium while listening to the MLK Speech on the Moutaintop to commemorate the holiday.  However, this year it was very different for many of us.  The words spoken by MLK Jr. made a lasting and deep impression as we drove through the roads of Palestine.  Realizing that the reality we are in right now is one of oppression, occupation, segregation, inequality, and injustice.  These words took on such a more powerful meaning for me than they ever have before.

I don't have much else to reflect upon tonight.

  1. Thanks for sharing this reflection on/near our MLK Jr. Day. I strongly suspect all the prospective and current ministers witnessing what you are seeing will be strengthened and renewed by your collective experience. Injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere. I suspect Dr. King's spirit and certainly the Holy Spirit are moving among you fiercely. Peace and Love, Steve P
